Our story

Rumore Whole Home Service was formed to address the anxieties that many people now feel regarding home maintenance and finding the right people to perform those tasks. Most families do not have a network of trusted people to call when something breaks, so they gamble on strangers and too often get overcharged for poorly done work or, worse, get charged for work that was never performed. This experience often leads to neglecting the type of care that every home needs.

Rumore Whole Home Service leverages the relationships we have built with local service companies we know to fix that problem. The crew you will deal with at Rumore is either family or longtime friends, not anonymous subcontractors. We are brothers, cousins, and friends with skills in plumbing, electrical, construction, automotive, woodworking, plastering and many other trades. When we send someone to your home, we know their family and they know ours.

Who you'll work with

Thomas Rumore

Owner and Home Manager

Thomas Rumore is a native of Birmingham whose family has been committed to the local community for over five generations, most notably through the family business, Southern Armature Works, open since 1931. He grew up in a home with nine siblings, where there was always maintenance to be done. It was there, in the place he loved most, that he developed his trade skills. Thomas then spent time apprenticing with an experienced handyman, and it was during that time that he realized he enjoyed caring for other people’s homes the same way he cared for his own.

David Hill

Head of Sales and Home Manager

David Hill is Head of Sales and Home Manager at Rumore Whole Home Service. He comes from a family with roots in baseball and finished carpentry. In 2019, Tommy John surgery brought the former pro pitcher to Birmingham as an outsider, and the Rumores treated him like family. Now he takes care of Birmingham homes the same way.

Patrick Rumore

Advisor

Patrick Rumore was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Building Science, Patrick brings several years of experience working with a large general contractor and residential home builders. As a husband and father of six, Patrick understands the importance of building relationships and creating spaces where families can thrive. He is passionate about craftsmanship, attention to detail, and providing honest, dependable service.

Every trade is handled by our own crew, licensed and insured. You never have to call them, schedule them, or chase them. That's our job.

Where we work

From Smith Lake to Lake Martin, and Lake Tuscaloosa to Logan Martin Lake, with Birmingham in the middle. That includes Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood, Trussville, Pelham, Chelsea and Leeds.
